The Flower Connection is a newly-formed company owned and operated by its directors Wayne Dewey and Dale Heritage. Dale has over 20 years experience and considerable expertise in the flower industry, managing the wholesale business for Flower World for many years. Wayne has a Masters degree in business administration and 30 years experience running various businesses including a retail flower business in Rotherham.

In 2011 Flower World was acquired by Morrisons PLC as part of a strategy to secure their supply chain. The wholesale business was sold as part of the package but was never considered to be core business. Wayne and Dale approached Morrisons and began negotiations to purchase the wholesale business in 2012. However, Morrisons were unwilling to sell at that time. In September 2016, having given up on the acquisition of Flower World, C Scruton Flowers Limited, an established and respected wholesale flower business in Leeds came on the market. Shortly after, Morrisons came to the table having decided that they now wanted to divest themselves of the wholesale business. As a result, 4 years of persistence paid off and in February 2016, C Scruton Flowers and Flower World Sheffield and Leicester were merged to form the Flower Connection.

The Flower Connection’s primary aim is to connect our customers with the best quality, value and service in the industry, through investment in technology, premises and people; to be achieved, most importantly, by understanding our customers and their needs.
